Rehabilitation, performance development and care for the leisure and performance horse.
Emma Barber provides a professional veterinary physiotherapy service in the midlands treating the leisure and performance horse. A qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist, McTimoney Practitioner and Equine Body Worker, Emma offers a combination of manual therapies, electrotherapies and remedial exercises to address musculoskeletal issues in animals, specialising in the treatment of horses.
Animals, like humans, suffer from musculoskeletal problems. Back pain, neck pain, muscle strain and soft tissue injury can create discomfort, which impact performance and physical well being. Emma’s treatment helps to reduce soft tissue injury and movement dysfunction created as a result of musculoskeletal conditions, working in collaboration with your vet, this provides a valuable supplement to veterinary care.
Veterinary physiotherapy is not just for the performance animal, with therapy being highly beneficial to the leisure horse, elderly or retired animal and those suffering from long term conditions such as osteoarthritis or chronic lameness and pain.
Treatments are tailored to the individual horse and owner, with the some animals requiring more than one treatment for long established conditions.
Emma is a fully insured practitioner affiliated with the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP) and the McTimoney Animal Association (MAA), working in accordance with the Veterinary Act to ensure the safe and effective treatment of your horse.
Emma works as part of a team alongside you vet, farrier, dentist and trainer to ensure the best outcome.
