Veterinary Physiotherapy

Veterinary physiotherapy is a comprehensive approach that includes manual techniques, electrotherapies, stretching and mobilisation techniques. It effectively targets muscles, fascia, and soft tissues to promote healing and recovery.

By combining these methods with remedial exercise, we ensure a holistic treatment plan tailored to each animal's needs. This integrated approach helps enhance mobility and overall well-being in our horses.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy encompasses a variety of techniques designed to restore movement and function, while promoting relaxation and impoved wellbeing. This includes the use of gentle touch and energy techniques to more traditional massage methods of effleurage, compression, and myofascial release.  Manual mobilisation techniques are also used that encourage and support  healthy movement within the body.

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapies serve as effective complements to manual techniques, enhancing the healing process.

Emma uses various electrotherapy machines, including H-wave and LW ultrasound, to assist in providing comprehensive care tailored to individual needs.

Owners may be left with select machines to allow continued treatment over a longer period to achieve superior results.

Static Exercise

Static remedial exercises such as weight shifting, baited stretches and spinal lifts, are a vital part of the rehabilitation and treatment of your horse. These exercises aim to enhance posture and function in a static position, setting the stage for more dynamic movements that are key in postural rehabilitation techniques. By integrating these exercises into your routine, you can significantly aid your horse's recovery and improve its overall health.

Emma approaches her work with horses by prioritising consent and respecting their comfort levels. She believes in a gentle and effective method, ensuring that each interaction is attuned to the horse's responses. By listening to the horses responses and staying within their comfort levels, Emma fosters a trusting and positive relationship with the horses she works with.
